Celebrity weddings have always been pop cultural fodder - the more famous the couple the more inescapable their nuptial impact. Like the 1969 wedding of John Lennon and Yoko Ono (after all, who was more popular than the Fab Four, as Lennon famously declared?)
We love the couple's psychedelic-era white attire - she in a white brimmed hat, miniskirt and knee highs; he in a white suit and turtleneck; both with long hair disheveled and their signature round glasses.
The presentation of the
Acne Resort 2013 collection set against of white vinyl padded backdrop (Vegas honeymoon suite?) had us marriage-minded, as did look after look of white, sharp yet slouchy suiting, cream ribbons dangling from jackets, and the models' honeymoon hair. We thought Julia Nobis in the
Acne Jinx Suit Jacket and
Run Shorts was channeling both bride and groom's looks from that day.
But our favorite piece had to be a
rumpled white cotton, dip-dye kaftan, undoubtedly something we could imagine the famous couple would wear while transcendentally meditating at the Maharishi's ashram before the Summer of Love, or during the couple's much publicize honeymoon bed-in.
